Scholarships
The Scholarship Wing of Farook College (Autonomous) assists students in accessing financial assistance
offered by government departments, public agencies, charitable organisations, and other funding bodies.
Its purpose is to ensure that capable students are not denied the benefit of higher education on account
of financial constraints.
Scholarships are awarded on various grounds, including academic merit, financial need, and specific
achievements. The Scholarship Wing identifies suitable schemes for eligible students and provides
assistance throughout the application and renewal process.
Scholarship Opportunities
Students of the College may apply for schemes offered by the Central and State Governments, public
sector undertakings, and other institutions. The eligibility conditions, benefits, and application
procedures for each scheme are determined by the respective sanctioning authorities and are subject to
revision from year to year. The Scholarship Wing maintains current information on these schemes and
advises students accordingly.
Notifications and Communication
Information regarding scholarship openings, deadlines, and related updates is communicated through the following channels:
- The College notice board
- The scholarship page on the College website
- Official WhatsApp groups
- Other approved means of communication
Students are advised to monitor these channels regularly to remain informed of announcements and deadlines.
Eligibility and Restrictions
Each scheme is governed by its own rules. Certain providers do not permit a student to hold more than one
scholarship concurrently, while others allow specified combinations. The applicable conditions are set out
in the official notification of each scheme, and students are expected to study them carefully before
applying.
Renewal
Most schemes permit beneficiaries to renew their scholarships in subsequent years of study, subject to the
conditions prescribed by the sanctioning authority. Continued eligibility, including the prescribed academic
standard, must be maintained. Applications that do not meet the stipulated requirements will not be
recommended or forwarded by the College.
Cancellation
A student wishing to discontinue a scholarship at any stage must submit a written request addressed to the
Principal through the Scholarship Counter at the College Office. Such requests will be processed in
accordance with the rules of the scheme concerned.
Refund of Benefits
Students who discontinue or cancel a scholarship after receiving its benefits may be required to refund the
amount received, subject to the rules and guidelines of the respective sanctioning authority. The refund
shall be made through the mode of payment prescribed by the concerned agency.
The Scholarship Wing provides necessary guidance regarding the refund process and related formalities.
Students are advised to complete any refund obligations promptly to avoid further action by the sanctioning
authority, including recovery proceedings where applicable.
Students are encouraged to remain informed of available opportunities and to observe carefully the
instructions, eligibility conditions, and deadlines prescribed by the respective authorities. The
Scholarship Wing extends its full support and guidance to help students make the best use of the financial
assistance available to them.
