Literature should be socially responsible: Fatma Al Mazrouei

Farook College: Famous UAE Writer and Novelist Fatma Al Mazrouei said that literature should be for society and should be socially responsible. She added that literature is the most essential cultural reflection of society and the contribution made by language by transcending boundaries is boundless.
She was delivering the keynote address at the valedictory session of the International Arabic Conference on 'Universality of Arabic Language and Literature' jointly organized by the P.G and Research Department of Arabic, Farook College (Autonomous) and Department of Arabic, University of Calicut on 13 January 2023 at the AVT, Farook College.
Dr. Nasser (Pro-Vice Chancellor, Calicut University) inaugurated the session. Dr. Mariam Al Shenasi (Chief Executive of Dar Al Yasmin for Publishing & Distribution, UAE), Dr. Khalid Al Kindi (Associate Professor, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman), Salem Al Rumaidhi (Poet, Kuwait), Dr. Nasser Al Hasani (Assistant Professor, Sharqiyah University, Oman), Dr. Fatma Al Mukhaini (Assistant Professor, Sharqiyah University, Oman) and Dr. Hedia Mcheikhi (Assistant Professor, Sharqiyah University, Oman) participated.
Dr. Yunoos Salim (HOD, P.G and Research Department of Arabic, Farook College) presided over the session. Dr. Abdul Majeed T.A, Dr. Jahir Hussain, Dr. Abdul Jaleel, Dr. Sageerali T.P and Dr. Tahir also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Muhammed Abid U.P (Assistant Professor, Farook College & Convenor, International Arabic Conference)) welcomed the gathering and Dr. Abbas K.P (Assistant Professor, Farook College & General Convenor, International Arabic Conference proposed vote of thanks.
Forty research papers dealing with various aspects of Arabic language and literature were presented in the conference. Apart from foreign delegates, academicians, researchers and students from various universities participated.
