The Department of Sociology hosted an invited talk on "Tribes in Kerala, Past and Present" on October 5, 2023, at the UG Seminar Hall, Farook College (Autonomous). The programme commenced with a welcoming speech delivered by Shahana Hussain, a sociology student in the fifth semester.

Dr. Azeez Tharuvana, writer and Head of the Department of Malayalam at Farook College (Autonomous), was the keynote speaker. He discussed the socio-economic and cultural scenarios of tribes in Kerala. Dr. Mohamed Musthafa KT presided over the session, and Dr. Badariya Beegum and Dr. Shilujas delivered felicitations for the programme. The session was both informative and interactive. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Umaikha, a 5th-semester student of sociology.
