Department of Botany, Farook College, Kozhikode, organized a one-day seminar on 5th October 2024, in association with the Malappuram District Botany Teachers' Association, with the title മാറുന്ന പ്രകൃതി, മാറാത്ത മനുഷ്യർ Changeable nature unchanging human beings) at Yousef Al Saqer auditorium.

The event began by welcome speech delivered by Dr. K. Kishore Kumar, Associate Professor and Head of the Botany Department.
Dr. Prakash M, President of the MBTA, addressed the gathering with a presidential speech, highlighting the purpose of the seminar and why such programs are crucial for academic and professional development.
Dr.K. A. Ayisha Swapna, Principal,Farook College, inaugurated the Seminar. She spoke passionately about the importance of initiatives like this.
The seminar's first keynote speaker was Dr. Sajeev T. V. scientist from the Kerala Forest Research Institute in Peechi, Thrissur. Dr. Sajeev began his engaging talk on the topic “Durantha Kaalathe Sasyashaasthra Padanavum Adyaapanavum” (Botanical Studies and Education in Challenging Times). His presentation started with an exploration of The Hierarchy of Sciences. He highlighted the challenges of teaching students of the Alpha Generation noting that the significant generation gap makes communication more complex. His session was highly interactive, both teachers and students were participating enthusiastically.
Following this, Dr. Shumais U, Assistant Professor of History at Farook College, was handled the second session. His topic, Kaalaavastha Vyathiyaanavum Wayanadan Bhooprakrthiyum (The Climate change and Geography of Wayanad), took the audience on a journey through the historical periods of the Wayanad region. Dr. Shumais explained the impact of shifting cultivation in Wayanad and highlighted the role of caste restrictions during rice cultivation.
An interactive session followed at 01:00 PM, in which teachers and students engaged actively with both speakers.
The event concluded with a final vote of thanks was given by Dr Meepthy M R,
Secretary MBTA.
The seminar ended with a tree-planting ceremony in front of the Department of Botany at 02:30 PM, marking the event's contribution to the Green Campus Initiative and leaving a lasting impression of environmental management .
