The Department of Sociology organized an invited talk on "The Relevance of Sociology in the Contemporary World" on 14^th June 2024 via Google Meet. Prof. Aparna Rayaprol, a well-known Indian sociologist and faculty member from the Department of Sociology at the University of Hyderabad, delivered the keynote address. She clearly highlighted the relevance of sociology as a discipline in the contemporary context. The interaction session made the programme more effective and insightful. Dr. Mohamed Musthafa KT, faculty from the Department of Sociology, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Badhariya Beegum, Head of the Department of Sociology, presided over the session. Aliya Ali, a student of Sociology, introduced the guest to the audience. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Naja Parveen, a student from the Department of Sociology.
