Farook College Celebrates Fidha K.'s Selection for the Prestigious Sakura Science Exchange Prog

Fidha.K, a final-year B.Sc Chemistry student at Farook College has been selected for the prestigious Sakura Science Exchange Program 2024. This program, held from September 9th to 14th, 2024, at the Research Institute for Electronic Science (RIES) in Hokkaido University, Japan, provided Fidha with a valuable opportunity to broaden her scientific horizons.

The Sakura Science Exchange Program, fully funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), aims to foster scientific collaboration between Japan and other nations. Fidha's participation reflects Farook College's commitment to nurturing future researchers and fostering international academic exchange.

The program included a packed itinerary of lab visits, lectures, and discussions with leading Japanese scientists.  Fidha gained valuable insights into cutting-edge research in her field and experienced the unique scientific culture of Japan.  She also had the opportunity to immerse herself in Japanese culture, exploring their people, language, art forms, and traditions.

Fidha expressed her immense satisfaction with the program, stating, "The Sakura Science Exchange Program was an incredible experience. It truly expanded my horizons in various research fields. The friendly and stimulating atmosphere at RIES was fascinating. Learning about the importance of interdisciplinary research and the highly sophisticated technologies employed in Japanese labs was particularly insightful. It was both a scientific and cultural exploration!"
