A community extension programme as a field trip was conducted for the second and third year students of the psychology department on Wayanad under the faculty members Dr. Nisha K. (HoD,Department of Psychology,Farook College) and Dr. Suvrad MT (HOD,Department of Psychology, Self-Financing, Farook College).

The journey started at 5:00 a.m. The first session was held at Thapovanam, a shelter of hope, at 9:30 AM, and the programme coordinator, Mr. Hexon, joined the team. Flag hosting and independence day celebrations were followed by several interactive games and sessions with the inmates. Students interacted with the inmates by interacting with them and including them in cultural activities.

The session was so helpful that students were able to watch and learn their behaviors. Then the journey continued to Wildlife Sanctuary Kallur, Sultan Bathery, at 12:00 p.m. Students had lunch. A session about wildlife was conducted by Forest Officer Mr. Babu, where he explained about wildlife in detail and the causes that are disturbing the wildlife.The session was really helpful to understand the relevance of ecosystems. And the students visited two tribal colonies, first the Kattu Nayakka tribes and secondly the Paniyar tribes, and learned about their lifestyle and living situation. Several games and entertainment programs were conducted. The sessions ended with a campfire and many games. Feedback was given by students, and certificates were distributed. The best camper was selected. The students returned to Farook College by 10:40 p.m.
