A two day long workshop on Moodle LMS Content Development was conducted on 7th and 8th of October 2022 at Informatics Centre, Farook College. This programme is a continuation to the pre workshop held on 25/6/22. The faculty members attended the pre workshop was the target audience for the sessions. The session began with the welcome address of the IQAC Coordinator Dr. Aysha Swapna K A.
The technical sessions started off with Dr. Ashkarali P, Principal in charge, CHMKM Govt. Arts & Science College, Tanur who introduced the Moodle software, its capabilities and how this freeware can be utilized for online/blended mode of teaching learning process. Dr. Ashkarali demonstrated how to create a course in Moodle, how to add topics, sub topics etc and various other activities & resources like page resource, discussion forum etc. available in the software package.
The afternoon session was handled by Dr. A R Ramesh, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Govt. Victoria College, Palakkad. He demonstrated how to embed audio, video to pages. Later, the discussion went on how to include link to other web resources. The first day’s session ended at 4.40 PM.
Second day of the training started with a session by Dr. A R Ramesh. He demonstrated the use of Quiz resource for accessing students. Moodle provides different ways to create questions for assessment. This session is followed by session on tracking attendance, creation of interactive videos and presentations using HP5 package by Dr. Ashkarali.
The discussion later moved to assignment and its evaluation and various methods of evaluation. Before the workshop wound up, every participants has started off by doing their activities assigned in their respective course pages allotted to them. The session concluded at 4: 30 PM and Dr. Shabana T. P, Dept. of Zoology, proposed the vote of thanks.
