The PG and Research Department of Statistics, Farook College (Autonomous) organized a “Two-Day Skill Development Workshop on Data Analysis Using SPSS” on 11th and 12th November 2025 under the DBT Star College Scheme. The sessions were held at the Statistical Computing Lab.

The workshop aimed to equip undergraduate students with essential skills in data handling, analysis, and interpretation using SPSS software. Around 40 final-year undergraduate students participated in the programme.

The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Fazil K, Coordinator of the programme. Dr. Haritha N Haridas, Associate Professor and Head (in charge), delivered the presidential address. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. P. Anilkumar, Former Head of the Department of Statistics, Farook College. Dr. Juvairiyya R. M., Former Head of the Department, offered felicitations, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Nazeema Beevi T, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics.

The technical sessions were handled by Mr. Rejeesh Chacko, HSST in Statistics, CAHSS Peruvemba, Palakkad. The workshop provided hands-on training on various statistical techniques including descriptive statistics, data visualization, and inferential statistics, with a particular focus on applying these tools for academic project data analysis.

The valedictory session featured student feedback, where participants expressed their appreciation for the practical and insightful sessions. Certificates were distributed by Dr. Abdul Rasheed K. V., Head of the Department of Statistics. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Shadha Fathima, third-year class representative.

Overall, the workshop successfully enhanced the analytical competence of students and enriched their understanding of data analysis using SPSS.
