Mrs. Jeomol K.K., born on October 26, 1991, in Kozhikode, has been serving as an Assistant Professor on contract since June 2024. She holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree from University of Calicut and is graduated from Providence Women's College and St. Joseph's College, Devagiri respectively. She has pursued her doctoral studies at the University of Calicut, with her research focusing on angiosperm taxonomy, particularly the family Urticaceae. She has described two species new to science. She is an elected Fellow of the Linnaean Society London (FLS) in 2026. She is a Life Member of the Indian Association of Angiosperm Taxonomy (IAAT) and was conferred the prestigious title of Fellow of IAAT in 2022. Her scholarly contributions have been recognized with the K.S. Manilal Award for the Best Paper in Floristics (including new taxa/new reports) in the same year. She has actively participated in numerous national and international seminars, presenting her research findings and contributing to the broader scientific discourse. In addition to her academic endeavors, she has a keen interest in gardening, trekking, plant collection, painting, crochet, and crafts.
