Conferment of Autonomous Status by the UGC in 2015 : The University Grant Commission, New Delhi granted Autonomous Status to Farook College for a period of six years from 2015-16 to 2020-21 on the recommendation of the committee constituted by the UGC under the chairmanship of Prof. Supama Guptu, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre, University of Calcutta.
NAAC re-accreditation at A+ level in 2016 with a CGPA of 3.51 on a 4 point scale.
Awards and Recognitions
Campus Diversity Initiative grant from Ford Foundation : As a token of its commitment to the cause of higher education, the college was selected by the Ford Foundation, New York, to receive a major grant under its project Campus Diversity Initiative. Farookcollege was the only one in the state and one of the few in the country to receive the grant.
R. Shankar Award instituted by the government of Kerala for the best special grade (Private) college in the state of kerala in 1997 - 98, 1999 - 2000
Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award instituted by Moulana Azad Education Foundation, New Delhi, under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India for promoting education among the educationally backward minorities.
