The Department of Library and Information Science hosted Kerala Library Congress-II on May 13–15, 2022. The theme of the conference was "Libraries and Knowledge Societies".
Dr.Manzoor Babu V (General Convener and College Librarian, Farook College) welcomed the guests and participants. The programme was inaugurated by Sri.Ahmed Devarkovil (Hon.Minister of Ports,Museums , Archeology, and Archives). The college principal, Dr.KM Naseer, presided over the session. Dr.K. V. Kunhikrishnan (President,KSLC) delivered the keynote address on developmental issues and policies of public libraries in Kerala. Sri P. K. Ahamed (Chairman,Farook College Managing Committee), Sri P Kunhi Mohammed (Manager, Farook College), and Dr. M. Bavakutty (Former HOD,DLIS, University of Calicut) felicitated the programme.In the presence of Dr.T.P.O Nasirudheen (former HOD,DLIS,Farook College), Dr.K. C. Abdul Majeed (associate professor and head,DLIS,Kannur University), and Dr.Abdul Azeez T A (University librarian, University of Calicut), Mrs.Shabna T P (Organizing Secretary& Head, Department of Library and Information Science) extended the vote of thanks.
There were five technical sections with various themes related to the main theme of the conference. Each theme was presented by experts in the Library Science.There were 24 paper presentations. A total of 144 participants attended the programme including library professionals from college and university libraries in Kerala , librarians of public libraries affiliated with the Kerala State Library Council, librarians from panchayath libraries,and students from Kerala Institute of LIS, Kasaragod,Kannur University, Calicut University, and Farook College (autonomous).After completing five technical sessions, the conference concluded with a valedictory session. Certificates were distributed to participants, and mementos were given to the renowned guests.
