Biography
Dr. Devi K. completed her M.Sc. in Geology with first rank from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala in 2010 and dual degree MS-Ph.D. from IIT Madras in 2019. Her doctoral research focused on the geophysical, geochemical and sedimentological assessment of coastal geomorphological landforms formed by extreme coastal events and peatland methane emissions along the Indian coasts. She had seven years of experience in conducting consultancy and research projects as the role of project associate and project officer in Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research Centre (IC&SR), IIT Madras. She was awarded DST-SERB international travel grant (AAPG/SEG conference London) and DAAD summer school scholarship (training at RWTH university, Germany). After Ph.D., she joined as Assistant Professor (ADHOC) in Christ College (Autonomous) Irinjalakuda, Kerala. Since August 2022, she has been working as Assistant Professor (On Contract) at Farook College (Autonomous), Kozhikode, Kerala. Her research focus on Quaternary geology, coastal geomorphology, Ground Penetrating Radar, peatlands, near surface geophysics, biogenic methane.
