Biography
Dr. Ajeena Rose is an accomplished academic specializing in Multimedia, with a strong foundation in media studies and communication. She holds both a BA and MA in Multimedia from Mahatma Gandhi University, graduating with with academic distinction in both degrees. She furthered her expertise with an MPhil from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, where her research focused on "Multimodal Literacy Among Media Students in Kerala: An Experimental Study." Dr. Ajeena was awarded prestigious Centrally Administered Full-term Doctoral Fellowship by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) from 2018 to 2020 for her Ph.D. thesis titled "Envisioning Creative Democracy Through Digital India Initiatives: A Case Study on Media Discourses of Rural Development Programs."
She qualified for the UGC-NET in Mass Communication and Journalism (2019) and has actively contributed to national and international conferences, presenting research on media representation, digital discourses, and media literacy. Her publication portfolio includes two peer-reviewed international journal articles, two national journal articles, and contributions to edited books with ISBNs.
Beyond her research, Dr. Ajeena has conducted four workshops on multimedia storytelling, visual editing, and storytelling in branding, further enhancing her role as an educator. She currently serves as the Head of the Multimedia Department, Convenor of the OBE Implementation Committee, and is a Board of Studies member in Multimedia at Farook College (Autonomous). Her work underscores the role of media in fostering social awareness and creative democracy, making her a vital contributor to both the academic and professional fields of multimedia and media literacy.
