Integrated Library Management Software

Integrated Library Management Software

Abussabah Library has fully automated all functions and services using the world class open source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) called Koha (23.11). Koha is the world’s best open source library automation software, used by more than 85 percent of academic, public, and special libraries around the world. It was created in by Katipo Communications for the Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand and supported by the world wide Koha Community. All the books in the library are barcoded. Students are also given barcoded Identity cards. This helps the circulation counter in managing the issue and return system of books smoothly. Online Public Access catalogue is one of the important features of the software. Books in the library can be easily located using the software. Library has started implementation of ILMS Koha in the year 2016 and upgraded to the latest versions from time to time. Footfalls of the users can also be calculated using the In-Out management system integrated with the Koha software. RFID enabled anti-theft system is also established in the library and integrated with the software.
