He joined Farook College on 03 October 1981 as a Junior Lecturer in Physics.

He pursued M.Phil & Ph.D in Physics from Cochin University of Science & Technology and University of Calicut in 1986 and 2008 respectively under FIP of UGC.

He conducted a UGC Minor Research Project entitled GAMMA AND X-RAY INTERACTION STUDIES NEAR K-EDGE AND DISPERSION CORRECTIONS.

Under his research supervision, two students, M.P.Noufal and P.Niyas, secured Ph.D's from the University of Calicut in 2019.

Throughout his service period, he undertook duties as Head of the Department of Physics; Director, Informatics Centre; Coordinator of Research Promotion Council; Member, Planning Board; Member, IQAC, and Director, Film Club.

He retired from the College as Associate Professor on 31.05.2015.
