Dr. Reji Thomas obtained his Ph.D. from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, in 2009, where he carried out research on the structural and spectroscopic investigation of molecular crystals. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research Institute for Electronic Science (RIES), Hokkaido University, Japan, from 2009 to 2012. He then joined the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute, Kent State University, Ohio, USA, as a Research Associate, where he served from 2012 to 2013.
He joined the Postgraduate and Research Department of Chemistry, Farook College (Autonomous), Kozhikode, Kerala, as an Assistant Professor in August 2013. He was promoted to Associate Professor in August 2025 and continues to serve in the department. He is also a recognized research guide at the University of Calicut, supervising doctoral research in chemistry. His research interests include supramolecular chemistry, crystallography, organic functional materials, and photochemistry, with a particular focus on the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced molecular materials.
