Myristica Students' Ecological Festival-Season 5

The Department of Botany, Farook College, Kozhikode, is organising Myristica Season 5: The Students’ Ecological Fiesta on 18 and 19 August 2026. This marks the fifth season of the ‘Myristica’ series, regarded as Kerala’s largest student Ecological festival.

The programme has earned appreciation from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, as well as the United Nations, through its successful editions held between 2017 and 2020.

This state-level festival is being organised in collaboration with the Malabar Botanical Garden and Institute of Plant Sciences (MBGIPS), the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), and the Malabar Natural History Society (MNHS). The festival features a wide range of exciting and educational programmes, including Big Quiz, led by Mr. Mridul M. Mahesh, one of the founding members of Myristica and a renowned quizmaster; EcoVerse, a debate competition; Impressa, a vegetable-printing competition; Scents, an interactive session introducing the art of making perfumes from flowers; a Resin Art demonstration; Mystic Hunt, a treasure-hunt competition; A Million Dreams, featuring screenings of environment-themed short films; and an exhibition of plants, animals, fossils and photographs highlighting the environment, biodiversity and wildlife conservation. The festival will also feature fun games and a variety of cultural programmes.

The festival is being conducted with the generous sponsorship and support of P. K. Steels, Parisons, K-Hills, Amana Toyota, Mubarak Jewellery, TIK – Interior Kampany, as well as alumni, teachers, students and environmental activists.

Students currently studying in any college in Kerala can participate in the festival by registering online or through spot registration.

ഫാറൂഖ് കോളജിലെ ബോട്ടണി ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റിന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പാരിസ്ഥിതിക മേള എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന "മിരിസ്റ്റിക്ക" യുടെ അഞ്ചാം പതിപ്പ് വരുന്ന ആഗസ്റ്റ് 18-19 തീയതികളിലായി നടക്കുകയാണ്. മുൻ വർഷങ്ങളിൽ നടത്തിയ നാല് മേളകളിലൂടെ കേന്ദ്ര പരിസ്ഥിതി മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന്റെയും, ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെയും പ്രശംസ പിടിച്ചു പറ്റിയ പ്രോഗ്രാമാണിത്.

മലബാർ ബൊട്ടാണിക്കൽ ഗാർഡൻ, സുവോളജിക്കൽ സർവേ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ, മലബാർ നാച്ചുറൽ ഹിസ്റ്ററി സൊസൈറ്റി എന്നിവരുമായി സഹകരിച്ചു നടത്തുന്ന ഈ സംസ്ഥാനതല മേളയിൽ മിരിസ്റ്റിക്കയുടെ സ്ഥാപക മെമ്പർമാരിൽ ഒരാളും പ്രശസ്ത ക്വിസ് മാസ്റ്ററുമായ മൃദുൽ എം. മഹേഷ് നയിക്കുന്ന ക്വിസ് , ഇക്കോ വേർസ് എന്ന ഡിബേറ്റ് മത്സരം, പരിസ്ഥിതി സംബന്ധമായ ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം പ്രദർശനങ്ങൾ, ഇമ്പ്രസ്സ എന്ന വെജിറ്റബിൾ പ്രിന്റിങ് മത്സരം, പുഷ്പങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന്  സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്ന കലയെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന വർക്ക്‌ഷോപ്പ്, റെസിൻ ആർട്ട്‌, പരിസ്ഥിതി- ജൈവവൈവിധ്യം- വന്യജീവി സംരക്ഷണം എന്നീ മേഖലകളിലുള്ള ഫോട്ടോ പ്രദർശനം, മിസ്റ്റിക് ഹണ്ട് എന്ന ട്രഷർ ഹണ്ട് മത്സരം, വിവിധയിനം കലാപരിപാടികൾ തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് ഉള്ളത്. 

പി. കെ. സ്റ്റീൽസ്, പാരിസൺസ്, കെ-ഹിൽസ്, അമാന ടൊയോട്ട, മുബാറക്ക് ജ്വല്ലറി, ടിക് - ഇന്റീരിയർ കമ്പനി, പൂർവ്വ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ, അധ്യാപകർ, വിദ്യാർഥികൾ, പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകർ തുടങ്ങിയവരുടെ സ്പോൺസർഷിപ്പിലൂടെയാണ് മേള നടക്കുന്നത്.

കേരളത്തിലെ ഏത് കലാലയത്തിൽ നിന്നും നിലവിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക്  ഓൺലൈനായി രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തോ, സ്പോട്ട് രജിസ്ട്രേഷൻ വഴിയോ മേളയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.
