Farook College, one of the most renowned institutions in South India, has been a beacon of education and social transformation for the past 75 years. Founded in 1948, the college has made it its mission to uplift the socially and economically disadvantaged communities of Malabar. By providing quality education and creating opportunities for underprivileged students, Farook College has been a catalyst for change, empowering countless individuals to rise above their circumstances. The institution has been recognized as a “College with Potential for Excellence” (CPE), a testament to the hard work and vision of its founders and current leadership.
Academic Excellence and Diverse Programs
As the largest residential institution in Kerala, Farook College offers a wide range of academic programs. With 22 undergraduate, 15 postgraduate, one integrated, and 11 research programs, the college provides students with ample opportunities to explore diverse fields of study. The institution is particularly renowned for its focus on science and technology, offering signature courses in collaboration with prestigious organizations like the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Higher Educational Institutions (FIST), and the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT).
Farook College also offers hybrid courses through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), in partnership with IIT Madras, both online and offline. Additionally, the college has received financial support under the Star College Scheme from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) to enhance life sciences and biotechnology education at the undergraduate level.

Farook College has consistently been recognized for its commitment to excellence. The college was re-accredited with an A+ grade (CGPA 3.51) in its third cycle by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has received the prestigious R. Sankar Award for the best special grade (private) college in Kerala for two consecutive years. In 2021, Farook College was ranked 73rd in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, a significant achievement for an institution dedicated to social upliftment and academic excellence.

Farook College goes beyond traditional academic programs by offering three skill development initiatives in collaboration with the Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS).
