Wild Life Biology gets prime focus among other optionals for the post-graduate programme and it is the only centre in Kerala where the above specialization is offered. The Department is a recognized research centre under the University of Calicut.</p>

1 .B.Sc. Zoology

The object based curriculum for under graduate program for B.Sc. Zoology equip students with basic and applied knowledge on different spectrum of Zoology with the advanced educational practices, the syllabus aim fundamental and modern arena of zoology with specialties and interest. The facilities available in the department provide an effective learning process among students.

3 .Ph.D

Admission to Ph.D programme is done as per the guidelines of the University of Calicut. Ph.D.Pprogramme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years.

Highlights

LABORATORIES

The Department has three fully equipped laboratories. Degree lab for Core & Complementary students and Separate Labs for PG First Year and second Year students. The labs have sophisticated instruments to cater the services to the UG, PG and Research students of the Department.

RESEARCH LAB

The department has Research Lab exclusively for research students with advanced such as Phase contrast microscope, Labomed Trinocular Stereomicroscope with Camera Labomed Stereo Zoom microscope CZM4, Labomed Trinocular Stereomicroscope with Camera, Stereo zoom microscope with camera, Ultra centrifuge with high speed/visible Spectrophotometer, Autoclave, Soil extraction unit, Glass homogenizer, Centrifuge etc.

SMART ROOM

The smart room can accommodate 70 students.  The Interactive Bord, Smart TV and other facilities in the room can provide a better and effective environment of teaching learning process. 

MUSEUM

The museum has many rare and precious specimens collected from various places and presented neatly. The specimens are classified systematically and arranged in a taxonomic order. The museum serves as an aid in teaching the students of Zoology at degree and post graduate level. The Department also maintains separate museum for PG wildlife students. Museum displaying hundreds of specimens spanning the entire animal kingdom, Skeleton of Whales, Elephant reptiles, amphibians and Fishes. Embryos, stuffed animals, Various types of nests, Pug marks of different carnivores, Antlers, Horns, Skull of different vertebrates and stuffed King Cobra attract a lot of students every year to create awareness and interest in academic communities within the college and nearby institutions.
