Dr. Naseer K.A.

Assistant Professor(c)

Department of Physics

Biography

Dr.Naseer K A received his Ph.D. from The Gandhigram Rural Institute – Deemed to be University, Gandhigram, Tamilnadu, India for “Synthesis, physical, structural, spectroscopic, and radiation shielding studies of Er3+, Er3+/Yb3+, and Dy3+ ions doped borate-based glasses containing heavy metal oxides”. After his post-graduation, Dr. Naseer worked as a Research Assistant at The School Of Bio-Energy Studies and Farm Waste Management, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy, Thrissur. After his Ph.D., Dr. Naseer joined as an Assistant Professor on contract for Physics, at Government Engineering College Kozhikode, Calicut, Kerala, India.

Dr.Naseer is broadly interested in condensed matter physics with particular emphasis on luminescent materials. His research interests are focused on deepening the understanding of the luminescent activities of rare-earth-doped glasses, phosphors, or even phosphor-doped glasses. Due to his experience in materials synthesis, and characterization, he can work on crystal growth and thin film fields as well.

He has published 30 articles in prestigious international journals like the Journal of non-crystalline solids, Ceramic International, Vacuum, The European physical journal plus, Radiation physics and chemistry, Optik, Applied Sciences, Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics – Springer, Journal material research and technology, Materials – MDPI, etc., and the impact of his research is measurable by the over 750 citations received so far by his papers with an overall H-index of 17. He presented the results of his research at more than 15 conferences and workshops. Dr. Naseer has received the Best Paper Presentation Award twice. He is a recognized reviewer for many reputed international journals like Radiation Physics and Chemistry, Ceramics International, Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, & Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Nuclear engineering and technology, Elsevier & from Journal of Photonic Materials and Technology (JPMT), Journal of the Australian Ceramic Society, Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics – Springer, Materials Research Express & Physica Scripta – IOP science, etc.
