Bassam S.A., currently working for Farook College (autonomous) as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics, joined the service in September 2011. He earned an M.Sc. in Physics in 2008 from Farook College. Presently, he is working on his doctoral degree in material science at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut.

His research activities are focused on molecular electronics and the radiation shielding of glasses. His experimental work provides unique information about the elemental composition of glasses for radiation shielding. The current focus of his research is the development of self-assembled monolayers (SAM) to construct molecular electronic systems.
