Dr.Nasirudheen served Farook College as Asst. Professor for 14 years from 1994 to 2008, as Associate Professor for nine years from 2009 to 2017 and was the Head of Dept. of Library and Information Science during this tenure from the inception of this department. After retirement, he continued to serve the Dept. for four more years as a guest faculty. During this tenure, completed the research work and awarded Ph.D. Degree from the Calicut University. He completed minor and major research projects awarded by UGC and attended to present research papers in the international conferences at Kaula Lampur (2008) and New Delhi (2015). A research papers were published in the proceedings of the IFLA World Library and Information Congress at Quebec City, Canada in 2008 and the international CALIBER-2005 at Kochi and International Congress on Kerala Studies in 1994 at Thiruvananthapuram. Authored seven research papers in international conferences, seven research papers in national conferences and ten research papers published in edited books. Supervised twenty seven dissertations of M.L.I.Sc. students.

He was put in charge of Career and Placement Cell of College during the period 2001 – 2004 and was the Director of the P.M. Institute of Civil Services Examination located in the college campus for ten years from 2007 till retirement. He assumed the Secretary of College Council for three years during 2014 - 17. He was also put in charge of the College Librarian in 2014 for two and half years when the college librarian got retired from the post of College Librarian. He was the Chairman of the Boards of Studies in Library and Information Science of Calicut and Kannur Universities and also the Chairman of Board of Studies in Media, Library and Information Science of Farook College (Autonomous).
