In memory of the formation of Press Council of India, the Department of Journalism at Farook College (Autonomous) observed the National Journalism day on Wednesday at 2 PM in the college audio-visual theatre. The college Principal Dr KM Naseer inaugurated the program featuring Smt. Sreeja Shyam, award winning journalist and chief sub-editor of Mathrubhumi news. Sreeja discussed the latest media practices and journalistic principles with the students in her dynamic interaction with young journalistic minds. The principal presented a personal scrapbook to Sreeja Shyam as a token of gratitude form the students. Faculties of the journalism department, Dr Lakshmi Pradeep, the Hod and Mr Ameer Salman O M addressed the welcome and guest introduction respectively. Dr Sajitha MA, Dr Azeez Tharuvana, Sonila Florence, Dr Ajeena Rose, the heads of English, Malayalam, Mass communication, and Multimedia departments respective felicitated the program. First year BA English student Fathima Lamiya offered the vote of thanks.
